It's not only because I have recently returned from Copenhagen, I'm sharing this post with you to probably give you an idea of what you can do as well. My list is a personal one, it changes a lot, as it comes to when I want to see those places. There are not only cities, some of them are just small places, there are on the other hand whole countries as well. Those places make my dreamer soul wake up, they wake up that >>wanderlust<< in me.
I'm sure many of you have places like that somewhere in mind, or even written down. The places you've seen somewhere on a cover of a magazine, or in a TV programme, or just heard about them and researched them.
Well, there goes my list.
1. Seven Sisters.

I regret a lot that I am not in the UK now, because if I were back at university I would just get on the train (even if it was a bus replacement service ;) and go there this weekend.
First time I saw pictures of this place somewhere in the immensity of articles and photos on National Geographic, and then again last year when I went to see the Princess Diana film (yes, I know) with a friend from university. Seven Sisters and Beachy Head made a huge impression on me, as a dreamer, and it was a quick decision to put it on my list. For me, it looks like a really dreamy place, I feel I could just sit there and do nothing except admiring the view.
I know I will visit this place as soon as I get back to UK after my year abroad.
2. Le Mont Saint Michel

Visiting this small island has been stuck in my mind for far too long. I can already imagine the amazing photos I will take when I get there. The only thing that scares me are the crowds of tourists passing through it. But then, when I think about the streets, the buildings and the views... Tourists are not such a big bother (especially that I will be one! :)
I hope I will be able to visit this place when I go to France next year.
3. Iceland.

My fascination for the emptiness around reached a high point when I was on the train somewhere between Denmark and Sweden. I mean it. Harsh climate, just grass, waterfalls, glaciers and geysers those are the things I'd love to see and Iceland is probably the best place to do it. And all that while listening to Björk!
4. Patagonia.

| from wikipedia.org |
Something similar to Iceland, yet slightly different. There is something that attracts me to this place. It's like the ultimate compilation of Scotland (which I adore), Iceland and the mountains (the Andes). Plus, it is so close to Antarctica it makes me want to study climatology again (I'll explain it, one day).
I would love to get on a ship and see Patagonia from the sea as well. Can I just go there, now?
5. New Zealand.

I admit, that the 'Lord of the Rings' is one of the reasons I'd love to go there, but it's not the only one. You might say I am crazy for the views and it might be true, but hey - I just want to see the world. Besides, I'd love to try bungee jumping and in Queenstown you can do it with a view!
6. Dublin, Belfast... okay, Ireland and Northern Ireland
 |
| Belfast, from trip-ability.com |
I am not an alcoholic, I don't even drink that much but not going on a trip to the land of Guinness would be a huge mistake. Not only because of the beer, but mostly because of the beauty of the country (yes, the views again). The thing that I would love to see, or rather - hear in Ireland is an Irish person speaking Gaeilge (the Celtic languages!).
7. Japan
 |
| Daigoji Temple, from japan-guide.com |
I think Japan has a really interesting culture and I am not talking about anime, manga and all that Kawaii, but more about what's really the soul of the Land of the Rising Sun. I'd love to see the crafts, try the tea (!), the food and get to know some more about... religion(s) - Buddhism and Shinto (yes, me!) and the Japanese language. Plus, imagine the beautiful colours of the cherry blossom.
8. India
 |
| from thingsforinteriors.wordpress.com |
As a vegetarian I think it's vital to visit the country of spices, curry and... colours. Yes, my dream is to experience the Holi festival in India (I know, we have them everywhere now, but I want the real one!). I'd love to meet more Indian people, get to know more of their culture and religion - they always celebrate and have fun, I sometimes think the Bollywood movies are just filmed on everyday streets of for example New Delhi ;) !
9. Tuscany
 |
| Florence, from atouchoftuscany.com |
What would I do without the one place that makes me feel I want to be Italian? And live in Florence, have a café where you could just read books and enjoy Italian coffee. Or a mansion somewhere in the middle of nowhere surrounded by olive groves. I would eat panini every day for breakfast and pasta every day for dinner. I probably would've been fat, but I'd be fat and happy!
CUT!
So, that is my list. There is no order in there, those places are randomly chosen from my much longer list...
